Zach Mathews was a student athlete his entire life until he got his first job in ticket sales for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He realized he had gained weight and tried different fad diets and workout programs, but nothing stuck. His sales manager told him about intermittent fasting and he stayed up all night learning about it. He tried it the next day and lost 20 pounds in three months. He has been intermittent fasting for 5 years and recently decided to pursue it full time. There are many benefits to intermittent fasting, including weight loss, more consistent energy levels, better focus and cognition, and reduced inflammation. The downsides to intermittent fasting include the misunderstanding that it is a cure all and that it is the only thing you need to do to lose weight.
